Providing protective product training to female entrepreneurs
The #COVID19 pandemic has affected the livelihoods of female entrepreneurs all over Ghana, including in extractive areas. The West Africa Governance and Economic Sustainability in Extractive Areas (WAGES) project held a two-day training to help women and youth beneficiaries diversify their skills and businesses by producing quality health and hygienic products needed in their communities.

While following physically distancing protocols, 20 women from Wassa East District Daboase and Prestea-Huni Valley Municipality (10 each) took part in the training to sew two different kinds of masks and make cleaning products including alcohol-based sanitizer, liquid soap, light and thick parazone and dettol.
These high-demand products will now protect community members and help provide an income for these newly trained female entrepreneurs.
